Social Functions
Wednesday, 12 May 2027 – Welcome Social
Join us for a relaxed opening evening at Richmond Hill Brewing Co., with a social gathering and beer tasting to welcome delegates to SAUHMA Conference 2027. Attendance is included in the delegate registration fee, with additional tickets available for spouses or partners.
Dinner will be for each guest’s own account, allowing everyone to enjoy the evening at their own pace while catching up with colleagues, reconnecting with friends and meeting new faces.

Thursday, 13 May 2027 – Conference Gala Dinner
Our SAUHMA Conference Gala Dinner will take place at Ginger Restaurant on Thursday evening. The dinner is included in the delegate registration fee, and additional tickets may be purchased for spouses or partners during registration.
We warmly encourage partners to join us for what promises to be a memorable evening of excellent food, good company and SAUHMA hospitality.

Friday, 14 May 2027 – Safari & Bush Braai
Experience a special Eastern Cape evening with a sunset safari drive followed by a traditional bush braai at Nyosi Wildlife Reserve.
Tickets for this optional experience are available separately for delegates and their spouses or guests. It promises to be a wonderful opportunity to experience some of the Eastern Cape’s wildlife and hospitality together, away from the conference setting.

End SAUHMA Conference 2027 with an experience to remember. On Saturday morning, delegates can choose from three optional activities celebrating the diving, hyperbaric and coastal character of our conference. Tickets can be purchased during registration, with additional tickets available for spouses or partners where applicable.
50 m Hyperbaric Chamber Dive
Â
Experience depth without getting wet.
Take part in a fascinating 50-metre dry chamber dive and experience first-hand the physiological effects of increased pressure in a controlled hyperbaric environment. This is a rare opportunity to experience significant simulated depth alongside colleagues while putting some of the week’s diving medicine discussions into practice.
Participation will be subject to the required medical and safety criteria.

Ocean Dive with Pro Dive
Take the conference beneath the surface.
For qualified divers, join Pro Dive for a morning ocean dive and experience the underwater world of Algoa Bay. It is a fitting way to finish a conference dedicated in part to diving medicine, by swapping the lecture room for the ocean and enjoying a dive with colleagues in our own beautiful corner of the Eastern Cape.
Divers will need to meet Pro Dive’s certification and safety requirements and should bring or arrange the appropriate diving equipment.

Algoa Bay Boat Experience with Pro Dive
Prefer to stay above the water? Come along for the ride.
Delegates and partners who would rather remain topside can join Pro Dive for a boat trip on Algoa Bay. Enjoy our coastline from the water, the fresh sea air and a relaxed morning with fellow delegates and partners before saying goodbye to Gqeberha.

A little note about our weather…
The ocean dive and boat trip are weather and sea-condition dependent. Gqeberha has earned its reputation as South Africa’s Windy City, and marine safety will always come first. Should Mother Nature have other plans for us on Saturday morning, these activities may need to be altered or cancelled.
Fortunately, we are also known as the Friendly City, so whatever the weather decides to do, we intend to make sure you leave SAUHMA 2027 with new knowledge, new friendships and some very good memories.

Cancellation Policy
Secure your place at SAUHMA 2027.
Cancellations received before 31 March 2027 will be refunded minus a 15% administration fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this date; however, substitutions are permitted at any time.
