The Stellenbosch University Diving Medical Practitioner (DMP) Level 1 contact block will be held in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) during the five days immediately preceding the SAUHMA 2027 Conference. This scheduling allows delegates enrolled in the DMP programme to conveniently attend both the university contact block and the SAUHMA conference.

Registration for the DMP Level 1 course is managed directly by Stellenbosch University. Prospective students should register through the University. For course-related enquiries, please contact Dr Jack Meintjes at wajm@sun.ac.za.

The exact venue and logistical details for the contact block will be communicated to registered students closer to the course dates.

Conference delegates who already hold the DMP qualification will have the opportunity to attend the official DMP Refresher Course during the contact block. Please note that attendance at the SAUHMA conference alone does not constitute the DMP Refresher Course for maintaining the Stellenbosch University DMP qualification. By presenting the refresher programme before the conference, the scientific programme itself remains free to focus on current advances, research, clinical practice and other topical developments in diving and hyperbaric medicine.
