To promote the practice of underwater and hyperbaric medicine,

To promote and facilitate the study of all aspects of underwater and hyperbaric medicine,

To promote and maintain the membership of the Association,

To facilitate the improvement of knowledge and skills of the members of the Association in the discipline of underwater and hyperbaric medicine,

To advise on development, maintenance and review of medical standards,

To advance the discipline of underwater and hyperbaric medicine by stimulating research, investigation and study,

To promote communication between members of The Association

To convene members of the Association biennially at a scientific conference and to hold meetings and other functions to inform, and develop fellowship and friendship amongst  members of the Association,

To establish and maintain co-operation between the Association and other medical and scientific bodies, clubs and organisations whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the Association, both nationally and internationally, 

To act as the official representation of its members insofar as official representation regarding undersea and hyperbaric medicine is required or desirable.
